Accounting community
It's obvious and self-explain why we need an accounting community. Almost everyone in the western world pays taxes! Individuals and small business owners can't always afford accountants. I want a community for ALL accounting, not just personal.
General tip - In general we can provide an attractive alternative to Stack Exchange if we run communities that they don't have. Money stack allows PERSONAL accounting questions, but you can't ask accounting theory or questions from accounting textbooks.
Reddit has so many subreddits on accounting like r/accounting, r/cpa, http://reddit.com/r/bookkeeping.

Please indicate if you expect to be a casual or more active participant. If you anticipate primarily asking or primarily answering questions, please indicate that. If you have particular expertise, either in the topic as a whole or specific areas, please say so. We're asking these questions so we can get a sense of the community being built and whether there are important gaps.

Hello everybody,
I'm a finance professor. I have a Ph.D. in finance. Like most finance professors, I have extensive experience with reading financial statements and valuation models. This doesn't make me an accountant, but I'll do what I can!
Thanks and regards, Mark

At the economics community that I follow (reddit.com/r/academiceconomics), someone suggested posting here and getting this community off the ground. I actually prefer the Q&A format here.
I have a Masters and Ph.D. in economics, my specialty is macroeconomics. I'm not an accountant...hope that's OK. But I've studied a lot of corporate finance that requires some knowledge of accounting! I read a lot of financial statements and have studied valuation methods.
