I have one question: can we agree that sexual reproduction in human beings requires genetic information from exactly two distinct individuals, exactly one of which is male and exactly one of which is female? And if not, how is this “trans-bashing?”
If this site gets approved, I will only occasionally check to see whether the basic facts of human biology have been “updated” based on opinion rather than evidence.
@seth.wagenman I would expect that most questions on a biology community wouldn't involve sexual issues at all. For those that do, I would expect participants to take the same dispassionate, clinical, science-based approach that professionals in the field do. Not being a professional in the field I don't know what exactly that looks like, but I would be surprised if there aren't already norms among professionals. It's us amateurs who are more likely to mess up and need to be guided.

Biology and chemistry are different topics, and should be in different sites. — Olin Lathrop 4 months ago
You have now significantly changed the proposal from Biology+Chemistry to just Biology. That really should be a different proposal. In any case, the "feed all these birds with one seed" comment makes no sense anymore. — Olin Lathrop 4 months ago
There is a bug blocking the approval of the suggested edit here. Just letting you know we're working on it, not ignoring the suggestion. — Monica Cellio 4 months ago
@Monica Cellio in fact, the "edit" button does not show (at least to me) — fedorqui 3 months ago
@fedorqui while a suggested edit is pending you can't edit. Can you see the edit link now? — Monica Cellio 3 months ago
