Change My View ....
One way to beat S.E. is to create communities they don't have. Codidact can get more popular if we improve on https://old.reddit.com/r/changemyview/, which has 1.2M subscribers as at today.
For instance, https://old.reddit.com/r/changemyview/ is glutted with duplicates and their moderators just don't care to tidy up their sub. Codidact's duplicate markers can streamline them, and improve on r/changemyview.
I'll quote some articles that summarizes r/changemyview.
r/changemyview, also known as CMV is an Internet forum on Reddit where participants discuss various topics for the purpose of understanding opposing viewpoints. Topics discussed include politics, media, and popular culture.[2]
Format
Users submit posts containing an opinion of theirs, and respondents to each post attempt to change the poster's views on that matter.[2] Submitters must reply to these challenges in three hours or less, resulting in debate over the topic. If their view is changed, they can award a delta symbol (∆) to a commenter.
Rules for the community include that people should explain their reason, focus on the argument, and be civil.[3]
‘Change My View’ Reddit Community Launches Its Own Website | WIRED
Turnbull's little invention, a subreddit called r/changemyview, began in 2013 as a simple forum for debate: State your belief, explain your reasoning, and ask the many voices of Reddit to convince you otherwise.
Six years later, it’s grown to a community with over 700,000 subscribers, many of whom regard it as an online oasis. Any topic is open for debate: All drugs should be legal, voter ID laws are a good idea, flour tortillas are superior to bread. CMV has captured the attention of journalists, who have called it “our best hope for civil discourse,” and researchers, who have used it to study effective online rhetoric. Jigsaw, the Alphabet-owned tech incubator, has used it as a sandbox to test a comment-ranking engine designed to “detoxify” conversations online.
