Notification number becomes negative on repeated clicking in the same page where it led [duplicate]

This question has been addressed elsewhere. See: When clicking "mark read" it shows a 0 when it should actually dissapear.

I am noticing an event which I don't know if would be considered a bug.

Do the following:

  • Open notification tab. (when you have one or more unread notification)
  • Click on any notification. The page opens..
  • Click the same notification again. Say it was a comment notification, on clicking it jumps to that comment. Notice that the "number of notification" decreases. Click on the same notification again and again and again. The number becomes negative.

Not really a serious issue. If you change the page (say you clicked the logo to go to the home page), it acts (or becomes) normal.

It happens only in case of what I mentioned above. Tested on my old phone.
