Art Codidact Site
I would like to propose "Art Codidact Site".
Q&A site for Artists and Crafters.
On-Topic:
- Tool usage, upkeep and selection.
- Material selection and usage.
- Asking for clarification of a specific tutorial step ("why isn't this working?" or "what do these instructions mean?").
- Attributes of different media and how they interact.
- Proper media storage and preservation.
Off-Topic:
- Asking for inspiration ("What craft can I do with ...?").
- Broad questions like "where do I start", or requesting a tutorial for a larger project.
- Discussion or critique of works, whether your own or another artist's.
- Product and service recommendations ("Where can I get [product]?" or "Where can I find someone who does [service] in [area]?").
- Art history and art appreciation related questions.
- Identification of artists and artworks.
Hope the community like it.

Please use this post to indicate your interest in helping to build this community. You can either edit this post (if you have the edit ability on Meta) or comment and someone else will edit it into the post.
Please indicate if you expect to be a casual or more active participant. If you anticipate primarily asking or primarily answering questions, please indicate that. If you have particular expertise, either in the topic as a whole or specific areas, please say so. We're asking these questions so we can get a sense of the community being built and whether there are important gaps.

I would be a casual participant. I could answer questions about painting (with gouache and watercolors, not oils), tablet weaving (beginner/intermediate, not advanced), and assorted obscure crafts. I know some woodworkers who aren't committed to the "Q&A community" idea, but if we had questions I'd try to draw them in to answer them. I do not know how to knit, crochet, or spin, but could possibly have questions about those. - Monica Cellio

Similar to Monica, as I'm someone who'd be interested in some sort of Arts and Crafts, I might be a casual participant. However, my biggest role rather than answering is moderating, since I would rather find answers to questions instead, and I can help with flagging if necessary. -- Mark Giraffe

I might can answer questions about Digital Art; I really not expert in Art but I have little experience with Digital Art as creating my own digital art photos and playing with Design Apps Online. I will make my best If I can invite some friends into this Q&A Community. - Kevin M. Mansour

I am trying to learn digital design and would likely ask questions on that topic. I could answer some basic questions about quilting. - Sigma

I would also like such a site and be a casual user, posting both questions and answers. - samcarter
