Comment Post #285741 They are still missing for me on Apple iOS 15.3.1 and it doesn't seem to matter what browser I use (tested Safari, Chrome, and Firefox on mobile).

Comment Post #278946 Consider expanding this broader to Information Security, which includes these areas but has additional areas. How we, if more interested in the legal and regulatory aspects, perhaps consider a Law site since this is just one area of law.

Comment Post #278884 That’s why I think a Christianity site with a different approach will work better based on my experience with the users such sites attract. With that said, I still participate on BH.SE and this is not a drop-in replacement by any means. These would be distinct communities with their own emphases. But...

Comment Post #278884 BTW for reference on this idea/approach, see https://hermeneutics.meta.stackexchange.com/a/886/ only this site would allow any combination of those modes. The reality is that hermeneutics are inherently theological, which is something BH.SE tries to bracket (rather unsuccessfully in my opinion—and th...

Comment Post #278884 Great questions, curiousdannii (and hello!). The proposal I’ve made, which isn’t currently shown, is to have some set of required tags to indicate the “domain(s)” of each question (which, for textual questions, would indicate which “modes of discourse” the OP is seeking to hear from, including theolo...

Comment Post #278764 @Nathaniel some of the conversation is in DMs on Twitter, and there is a collaborative document on Google Docs I've shared with some folks and would love to share with you (I actually wanted to share with you weeks ago but could not find your email address through your SE profile unfortunately). Plea...

Comment Post #278764 Well said, @Mithrandir24601. I am also “hesitant to define the scope of a site before we have a real community to say what they do and don't want.”

Comment Post #278764 On this site, I suspect that would be off topic, but I'd rather let the community discuss _why_ it's off topic and such on meta than declare anything by fiat during this early phase haha

Comment Post #278764 @Lundin we'll have to consider that. Currently Christianity.SE and Hermeneutics.SE somewhat subdivide topics related to the biblical texts. The former requires a specific question and it must specify a perspective it wants an answer from, and the latter requires questions to start from a specific tex...

Comment Post #278764 There are also areas the community will need to discuss early on as to how to handle, such as how to handle philosophical questions asking about "the Truth" (e.g., "is X a sin?"), questions about the boundaries of Christianity itself (e.g., "who's in or out?"). In the past, other communities tend to ...

Comment Post #278764 With that said, some stuff we've discussed as clearly being off topic would be questions seeking personalized pastoral advice or counseling, answers from perspectives that can't be independently verified or falsified (e.g., "God revealed to me that the locusts are alien spaceships and that this will ...

Comment Post #278764 Good questions, Peter. I've included a broad summary of what would be on topic in the above post, but haven't elaborated much on what would be off topic because I think that will be hashed out more by the community. I also have come to "see the light" on a moderation philosophy that focuses on findin...

Comment Post #278764 Peter, that's a great point and definitely something we'd need to further consider (including making the language more agreeable and accessible). I went ahead and removed the stuff about tags so as to not "muddy the waters" of the proposal itself. All of this kind of stuff is best discussed in meta o...
