"Draft" is "loaded" even though it is empty

I have the "Draft loaded" message for an answer where I ended up wiping the textarea. You don't need to show that message if the textarea is empty.

Last Friday I couldn't post or edit posts because some "couldn't delete draft message". I was essentially locked out from Codidact, couldn't even write a bug report. Today I find myself logged out of random sites and when I try to log in, "you are already logged in". The whole site seems to be falling apart.

Lundin‭ the error you've seen is not a new one, we just improved our error reporting to end users a couple of days ago so as we don't fail silently when these things happen (to elaborate, before a post is submitted, your saved draft is deleted first - unfortunately, the way it was initially designed, failure to delete the draft results in failure to submit the post. I am working on making this not to be the case). As for general instability - yeah, we've been consistently hit by what's basically a DDoS attack (whether it's malicious is not yet clear), so we had to crank up rate limits and Cloudflare protections and caching. On the one hand, at least the platform is accessible at all, on the other, all this lead to a lot of issues with user sessions, some of which we are yet to track down. We'll make a post soon to raise awareness and suggest steps users can take to alleviate the issues to some degree until we are able to hopefully fix everything up properly.

(Deleted all cookies and logged in again, lets see if I can post comments now) The whole site is indeed falling apart - I've been trying to reply to the comment but the site won't let me, "error 442" or something. I can't post Q&A because of the edit bug, logging in and out is bugged, message notifications are broken etc etc. Only a small part of these many sudden bugs can be explained by some ddos. Whatever you did you need to rollback it to the point before the changes, because it is impossible to use the site now and has been impossible for a week.

I presume you've at least been able to post a comment, Lundin‭? Unfortunately, all those errors (422 error, logging in and out, editing, notifications) are directly related to heavy caching that's been enabled to mitigate the load, which we can't afford to turn off as it's likely to cause the site to become completely inaccessible to everyone. That said, a first batch of updates that should allow us to both fix up the issues you noticed and keep the site running is pending deployment (will happen around this weekend) and we are trying to pin down the remaining ones in the meantime - these should be resolved soon, but it might take a little while.

Oleg Valter‭ No I haven't been able to use the site for 2 weeks. Can't comment, can't post, nothing. Deleting cookies seem to temporarily fix it (I did that just to post this comment) but then the problem comes back. Same login problems, notifications bugged, caching is super buggy etc etc. This will be the final nail in the coffin for this site. In case someone wonders why there's such low site activity - site activity isn't possible!

We've finally been able to deploy the next set of changes that should hopefully mitigate a lot of the issues, Lundin‭ - do ping me if you still experience any, you seem to be among the users most heavily affected by all this, unfortunately.

couldn't even write a bug report

Lundin‭ For future reference, there are a number of alternate contact methods on the Contact page, including GitHub and email.
