Short question: how to accept an answer?

There is no "Accept" button, so I have chosen "Works for me".

Is this the intended way?

(And it looks like I accidentally edited my previous question, hopefully it stays unchanged.)

Yes, the "works for me" is roughly equivalent to the "accept" on that other site.

The difference is that anyone can do a "works for me," not just the Asker. Note that reactions are not anonymous. The available reactions vary by community so that only relevant ones are shown.[1]

Thinking twice, "Works for me" has different semantic to "accept", "Works for me" sounds more like "I have tried and it works", appropriate for software development, electrical engineering etc., but not so much for Judaism or Christianity or other abstract topics.

So, just upvote?

watchmaker‭ reactions are defined per community. "Works for me", "Outdated", and "Dangerous" are the defaults, but here on Meta we turned off the first and last as not really applicable. (Maybe "works for me" should be available?) Other communities can turn them off if they don't make sense, and/or define new ones. You'll see "works for me" on Software Development and Power Users, for example. (Michael, feel free to incorporate this info into your answer for better visibility.)
