"Show source" feature would make sense to me

I dimly remember that once, on Wikipedia, there was a button "Show source".

Would be nice to have that here, to learn about what is possible from examples, without opening things for edit and then accidentally modify it.

Would be of special interest for comments, looks like they don't have (and need) all functionality available for questions and answers.

Should be easy to implement using the code already available for "edit" but just blocking "save" and enable "show" for any user, even those without permission to "edit".

Yes and no.

The browser shows me all the source for all the page. Very difficult to filter out the specific part I want to see.

And more, what HTML is shown will probably be different from what has been typed into the question or comment, regarding some processing between the two.

For example "@userXY" will surely not show up like this in the final HTLM.

Olin Lathrop‭, no. An internet browser displays the rendered CommonMark as HTML5. They're not 1:1. Solely the server knows what the original markup was.
