Meaningful message when failing to close a post as a duplicate of a different type

If I try to close a question as a duplicate of a different post type, such as a blog, this correctly fails. However, there is no message indicating the reason for the failure, so someone might not realise that this is not a valid duplicate target. All that is displayed is "Failed: 404" in a red box:

Could a meaningful message be displayed instead so that people can understand why it fails and know not to keep trying again?

I can imagine situations where something was posted in the wrong section but is also a duplicate. In the future, communities could possibly grow to where the right section for a question is unclear (or depends on how it's phrased), or the actual question is a bit vague etc. but it turns out that the underlying concern really is best addressed by established Q&A in a different section.

Perhaps this kind of duplicate closure would more often be attempted by mistake, but it's also a bit hard to imagine how it happens by mistake.
