Importing StackExchange dumps

+4
−0

Users of StackExchange use the platform with the understanding that questions and answers are available under a CC licence and SE makes a dump of its content available under https://archive.org/details/stackexchange This gives some control back into the hands of the community, since in the case of disagreement a community can take the data and host its own side, essentially forking the community.

Would it be desirable for codidact to import some of these dumps for its own community, so users can refer to old answers instead of having to recreate already existing content.

Thanks for the link to the dump on Archive.org . I didn't know that Archive.org maintains a dump in a form that's easy to grab. It may come handy some day.
