This question has been addressed elsewhere. See: Opening suggested edit notification from another site in meta leads to 404

This question was closed; new answers can no longer be added. Users with the reopen privilege may vote to reopen this question if it has been improved or closed incorrectly.

I recently made a few posts across multiple sites here, and I got responses to all of them, which all appeared in my inbox (this is normal and expected, of course). But then I clicked on them, and I was directed to the 404 landing page.

It appears that the links provided by the notifications are relative to the domain, instead of linking directly to the site where the post appears on.

Can you include an example of one of the 404 links?

Was it a suggested edit? That's a known bug. I just tried notifications of various sorts in my inbox and I couldn't trigger it with anything else. If it wasn't an edit, could you say what it was so we can investigate? Thanks.

@Monica Cellio Yes, one was a suggested edit. However, I recall the other one (a comment) also getting 404ed, but now it links properly so it’s probably just me misremembering.

I did a search first to see if it was reported, but that post didn’t appear.

Code fix has been filed via PR for suggested edit notifications. If there are any other notifications that are erroring like this, please name them in a comment here for the record.
