I had visited the dashboard. In it I saw some meta sites containing silver circles. Others do not.

silver circle

What does the silver circle represent? Is it a bug?

There's a hover text on the silver button.

It is a status badge. A gray circle means that there is at least one post that you have not read (or, more strictly, saw/check) so far.

If you navigate to a category with gray-status and then return back to the Dashboard page the status will be different.

Also, if you keep a cursor for some time on the status-badge you will see a message with a hint

new post for you

which makes clear the meaning. Well, if it doesn't you can skip the for you part for now.

You could see this status in a category panel as well. For example,

"New post for you" doesn't really make the meaning clear. I would go so far as finding it confusing/misleading. "New post for you" means there should be some post/comment/contribution that addresses me specifically. To be clear in meaning, the message should rather be "Unread posts", imo.

@elgonzo the idea is that not the post is for you, but the new. So the posts are new to you. But I see now that there is some option fof confusion and we will consider changing it; maybe to something like "there are posts you may have not seen yet."

@elgonzo oh, I didn't think it might be confusing. Answer is edited.

@elgonzo good point. I've submitted a PR to update the wording.
