Allow using <br> tags when commenting

I suggest to allow <br> tags when commenting in a threaded comment.

In the current situation only separate passages are allowed:

Passage_1

Passage_2

<br> tags improve accessibility by allowing to split passages into sub passages (which is good with very long passages of say 100 words);

Passage 3:

sub_passage_3_1
sub_passage_3_2

I wonder why that thread was archived. (Replying to others who is disagreeing), as you can see in question that when deleted user had used The following method for blockquote then there was huge spaces. That's actually differentiating paragraphs.

>Hello
>
>Blah

But when he used br tag then there wasn't any paragraph separation but it was just line break. ~~I know John had wrote some other way in question but following method decreases number of characters that's why I prefer it.

>Hello<br/>Blah

Oh, I'm sorry -- I mistook the "I have edited to explain" to refer to a post edit, so I (and a flagger) thought the whole thing was obsolete. Does this thread cover it, or should I un-archive the other one?

Monica Cellio‭ I believe the last edit made in the question clarifies all that was asked in the archived thread (motivations to support br in comments, how it's different from paragraphs, etc), and there's no need to un-archive it (actually, I wonder why it wasn't deleted, but I digress).

Sounds good, thanks. I archived it because I wasn't sure if it provided context for edits, should anybody be looking at the post history later. Probably could have deleted, but I took the less-destructive option, which still gets the thread out of the way.

Monica Cellio‭ I don't know what was archived; in my mind, no post should have been archived.

A comment thread was archived because it looked like the changes discussed in it were made. I might have misunderstood. You can still see it; you have to click on "show more" under the other threads.
