Footnote numbers not displayed on mobile

+5
−0

UPDATE: It isn’t just footnotes. It affects bulleted lists also.

Footnotes work fine in my desktop browsers.[1]

But on mobile, I see this:

Missing footnote numbers

The footnote numbers are not displayed (the ones within the body are, but not the numbers in the footnotes themselves).

On desktop, the numbers are displayed:

Numbers are visible in desktop browser

I was able to replicate this issue in the following mobile browsers on my iPhone 12:

  • Chrome 97.0.4692.84
  • Safari (iOS v15.2.1)
  • Firefox Daylight 96.0 (7403)

The example shown in these screenshots is from this answer.

  1. They really do! ↩︎

I tested this on Android with Chrome 99.0 on your linked example and also this post and I see the footnote number. Are they still missing for you? Wondering if this is an OS difference or something else. Thanks.

They are still missing for me on Apple iOS 15.3.1 and it doesn't seem to matter what browser I use (tested Safari, Chrome, and Firefox on mobile).

Thanks for checking. I've filed this to track it: https://github.com/codidact/qpixel/issues/787.
