Should the Discord guidance be updated as discriminators are being removed?

In my profile, it includes this guidance:

Discord

Your Discord user tag, in the format username#1234.

Discord is in the process of removing discriminators (a discriminator is the #1234). While the removal is still in progress, once it is complete, that guidance should likely be updated to no longer include the discriminator in the example. Something along these lines might work better:

Discord

Your Discord user tag, such as username

Makes sense; thanks for pointing it out. Do you think it's ok to wait until they're done and just change it once here, or is that causing confusion and we should make a shorter-term change and then change it again when the numbers go away?

If it's possible to type in a "new" Discord username right now, then there is no rush. Users should be quite familiar with the situation as it is currently "hot". If the system prevents users from adding a Discord username without numbers, that will be a problem and might need addressing.

I think it allows a username without numbers right now. That said, I agree with VLAZ‭ and trichoplax‭ that we should likely wait

I can confirm that it currently allows any string - no numbers required. Mine is currently a link to a Meta post.
