Could we adopt the domain “.cd”?

How would people feel about a network-wide convention of abbreviated URLs having the form, https://<topic>.cd?
For example, a shortened URL for a philosophy site would be https://philosophy.cd, along with the full URL of https://philosophy.codidact.com. (Or, maybe even shorter, https://phil.cd, or something.)
Why?
- It’s a user-friendly, modern software design.
- It’s efficient to link to and refer to sites in the network, that way.
- It’s potentially more compact and memorable, even a type of “branding”.
A number of other sites do this, for example, YouTube with “youtu.be/” style links, I think.
