Can we have an error if the to be uploaded image is too large?

I tried to upload an image and wondered why I didn't work. So I tried again and again until I noticed that my images were barely larger than 2 megabytes.

Can you please add a warning if images are too large to upload (or at least throw some kind of error) or make the initial information in the upload context field more visible?

The way it works now, the website just tells me it's constantly trying to upload without throwing an error (see screenshot below).

information constantly trying to upload image

I have proposed a number of possible solutions. At the moment though, they are grand ideas awaiting both consensus on what to implement and then programmer(s) to actually implement them. Due to other demands on developer time (both mine & others, and both inside Codidact and in the real world), it may be a while. But I am determined that we get a first-class image upload & processing (crop, rotate, resize) system in here one of these days.

For now, while we're still looking into how to better do image upload, I've added an error indicator in. Rolling out Soonâ„¢.
