Q&A

Welcome to Codidact Meta!

Codidact Meta is the meta-discussion site for the Codidact community network and the Codidact software. Whether you have bug reports or feature requests, support questions or rule discussions that touch the whole network – this is the site for you.

User-configurable default sort order

The default sort order, apparently everywhere, is by "activity". I virtually never want this and prefer to sort by "age" as I want to see which questions are new.

The feature request is to add a preference (presumably on https://software.codidact.com/users/edit/profile where the keyboard shortcuts preference currently is) to set the default sort order. Navigating to a url without a sort query parameter, e.g. https://meta.codidact.com/categories/3, would use this user-configured sort order. Of course, the sort query parameter, e.g. https://meta.codidact.com/categories/3?sort=activity, would override this.

Personally, this is a fairly low priority for me as most of the time I'm refreshing a page that is already sorted as I'd like. Nevertheless, it's a minor nuisance as I navigate about the site.
