Q&A

Welcome to Codidact Meta!

Codidact Meta is the meta-discussion site for the Codidact community network and the Codidact software. Whether you have bug reports or feature requests, support questions or rule discussions that touch the whole network – this is the site for you.

Where can I find the discussions over the general approach of Codidact?

I am visiting Codidact regularly and enjoying to see the creation of this set of communities. When in Somewhere Else, I used to browse through old discussion threads, as well as a podcast or blog, to understand why some decisions were made. That helped me a lot to get the touch of the site, its evolution, etc.

Now in Codidact I keep finding things that I do like, such as:

  • No option to accept an answer.
  • No option to upvote comments.
  • Vote score break down on first sight.
  • Categories instead of a single pair main/meta.
  • ...

Where can I follow the discussions that lead to these conclusions? I am aware of the Blog, but could not find references to these debates in there.

I would like to start with noting, that comments aren't in their "final form" yet, so it's quite likely we'll see some kind of comment voting/approval marking in the future. Besides that, all the things you mentioned are intentional.

All recent discussions are here in Meta. If you want to go down the rabbit hole of finding the older discussions (> 1y), you might want to have a look at the forum

The old forum still has the discussions that came before this site, and there are also the channels in Discord.

That's probably most of the older discussions, there might be some in the SE chats from before that point.
