It is always fine to bring over your own content.  After all, it's yours.

However, some sites here will not appreciate you bringing over anyone else's content.  That would require us to show attribution, which results in links to elsewhere that we don't want.  For example, on the EE site, we don't want any copied content.

If it's your question, there is little problem copying it.  But, don't copy any answers unless you wrote them.  Basically, you can ask the same question here as you did elsewhere.

If you really want one of your own brilliant answers here, then copy the essence of the question, but not its words directly.  Again, some sites here don't want anything that would require attribution.  In this case you have the advantage of knowing the answer, so you should be able to write a clearer and more to the point question than the OP.  Once the question has be re-written here in your own words, then you can self-answer it here by bringing over your answer.

In all cases when bringing your content here from elsewhere, take the opportunity to read it over, fix typos, spelling errors, awkward wording, and the like.  Consider adding section headings, illustrations, etc, to make your post here <i>better</i> than the original.  We want to be better than elsewhere, which is clearly impossible to achieve if all we do is copy from elsewhere.

There is the additional problem that search engines will penalize us if we have a lot of copied content.  Early in Codidact's history, a few sites mass-imported content from SE.  This turned out to actually hurt those sites.  We are now in the process of figuring out what to do about it, with some duplicate content having already been deleted.
