Character count appears only when posting new comments but not when editing existing ones and no error appears when limit is exceeded and one tries to save the post
Character count appears to me only when posting new comments but not when editing existing ones. This is a problem for me because it confused me not to understand why I couldn't save a comment which had 511 characters instead of the maximum of 500, without me getting any error. [It happened when I was commenting on an answer here](https://scientific-speculation.codidact.com/posts/282175) ; a session which contains two separate questions; was already splitted into two separate questions in Physics CD ([[1]](https://physics.codidact.com/posts/282186), [[2]](https://physics.codidact.com/posts/282187)) and which I think should be deleted.
