Unfortunately, this isn't something we have control over. It's down to the MathJax library and how it renders the math. If you look at the page HTML, by default it renders math by putting every character in a CSS `::before` psuedo-element, which aren't selectable; likewise, if you change the renderer to SVG, it renders characters with paths not text elements.
