- I like the "Random from Category" and "Specific post" ad templates. I've recently been a "selfish sharer" and used the "Specific post" template to share one of my own questions.
- This made me wonder if there are any other "selfish sharers" out there who might like to be able to share their own questions, but not a specific one. Is there demand for a "Random from user" ad template?
- I imagine that making the image link could use much the same approach as currently used for "Random from Category", but I don't know how to link to the same random post that shows in the image (since it will change over time). For that matter, I don't know how to link to the random post generated by "Random from Category" either. Do people who currently use "Random from Category" just make it link to the relevant Category rather than the randomly chosen post? If so then I guess the "Random from user" image could just be made to link to that user's posts page. For example, [my posts page](https://codegolf.codidact.com/users/53890/posts) has this URL:
- ```text
- https://codegolf.codidact.com/users/53890/posts
- ```
- *(This is assuming it's going to be a random post from that user for a specific site, such as Code Golf here, rather than a random post from that user from across the whole Codidact network. This seems consistent with the existing ad templates)*
Even though that wouldn't link to the specific randomly chosen one of my own posts, I think that's sufficiently selfish for me...

"Random from user" ad template, for "selfish sharers"
I like the "Random from Category" and "Specific post" ad templates. I've recently been a "selfish sharer" and used the "Specific post" template to share one of my own questions. This made me wonder if there are any other "selfish sharers" out there who might like to be able to share their own questions, but not a specific one. Is there demand for a "Random from user" ad template? I imagine that making the image link could use much the same approach as currently used for "Random from Category", but I don't know how to link to the same random post that shows in the image (since it will change over time). For that matter, I don't know how to link to the random post generated by "Random from Category" either. Do people who currently use "Random from Category" just make it link to the relevant Category rather than the randomly chosen post? If so then I guess the "Random from user" image could just be made to link to that user's posts page. For example, [my posts page](https://codegolf.codidact.com/users/53890/posts) has this URL: ```text https://codegolf.codidact.com/users/53890/posts ``` Even though that wouldn't link to the specific randomly chosen one of my own posts, I think that's sufficiently selfish for me...
