Should markdown links work in comment thread titles?

Markdown links work in comment thread comments, but not in comment thread titles:
Would it be better if they worked in the title too?
If there is a reason to avoid links in thread titles, would it be better to convert the link text to standard text (with no link) and not display the raw markdown?
For example, instead of
You can change your email [here](https://software.codidact.com/users/edit).
the title would show as
You can change your email here.
(with no link).
