It appears that this may have been incidentally fixed by other recent changes. I have just suggested an edit on the question you linked to, and I was able to see the tag "writing-instruments" and remove it. The edit will need to wait for review, but it seems that simply being able to suggest it means the bug you mention is no longer present.
