HTML entities not showing correctly when editing tag WIKIs.

I inserted a table in whose cells appears an HTML entity, namely the "div" symbol "÷". Inside the table that symbol is not rendered, but it is displayed as the corresponding entity, whereas during editing, in the tag WIKI preview pane, it showed up correctly.

Following the advice of Olin in a comment, I changed the entity to an ndash (–) and the problem disappeared. Funny.
