Category activity indicator is lit for one's own activity

When new posts are submitted to a category, a small circle is displayed next to the category's name, within its tab in the category bar.

This activity indicator is displayed even when the only new activity is your own posts. That shouldn't happen. It's possibly not worth it to spend resources at changing it, unless the change is easy.
