A step toward this: if you choose "copy link" on a top-level post, you now have two options, the raw link and a Markdown version.  The Markdown version uses the post title as the link text.  So it's not *automatic* -- if you paste a URL in from your browser you'll get a naked link -- but it's possible to get the friendly version without having to go collect the title manually.

"Copy link" on an answer doesn't populate the link text, so you still have to fill that in.  Would it be better or worse if we filled it with something like "answer to (Title)"?  If you wanted to say something more specific like "the answer suggesting jQuery" you'd have to edit out what we generated and then add your text.  On the other hand, you'd always get *something*.
