Tidying
  • Sometimes, after having the site open for a while, it has been automatically signed out. This will not be apparent until you try to navigate and see the page in the signed out layout (no user avatar at the top right, and sign in and sign up buttons are now present). This is as expected, and not a problem.
  • If instead of navigating away from the page you try to open the notifications panel, it opens but shows no content. Could it instead show a notice that you are signed out so you know to sign in? Alternatively, it could take you to the sign in page.

  • If instead of navigating away from the page you try to open the notifications panel, it opens but shows no content. This does not make it immediately obvious why. Could it instead show a notice that you are signed out so you know to sign in? Alternatively, it could take you to the Sign In page.

Empty notifications panel when you have been signed out
Sometimes, after having the site open for a while, it has been automatically signed out. This will not be apparent until you try to navigate and see the page in the signed out layout (no user avatar at the top right, and sign in and sign up buttons are now present). This is as expected, and not a problem.

If instead of navigating away from the page you try to open the notifications panel, it opens but shows no content. Could it instead show a notice that you are signed out so you know to sign in? Alternatively, it could take you to the sign in page.
