- During writing an answer, a draft is automatically saved, which can be very useful, particularly when continuing work on an answer on a different device. Usually, when the answer is posted the draft is automatically discarded.
- Today I posted an answer which did not discard the draft, so I was left with a posted answer and a draft answer with identical wording:

When there is only 1 answer this is unlikely to be more than a brief distraction, as it is clear that the draft has already been posted. However, where there are many answers to a question I can imagine this leading to accidentally posting an answer twice, particularly if there is a long delay before the author returns to the question after initially posting.

Draft not discarded after posting an answer
During writing an answer, a draft is automatically saved, which can be very useful, particularly when continuing work on an answer on a different device. Usually, when the answer is posted the draft is automatically discarded. Today I posted an answer which did not discard the draft, so I was left with a posted answer and a draft answer with identical wording: > When there is only 1 answer this is unlikely to be more than a brief distraction, as it is clear that the draft has already been posted.
