  • [@trichoplax](https://meta.codidact.com/users/53890) discovered that when entering two or more characters, the results are always sorted alphabetically. By default and when using the *Reputation*/*Age* sorting options.

The first issue is a duplicate of this question: https://meta.codidact.com/posts/291717
  • Add user search substring matching
  • User sorting is unclear when sorting by *Reputation* or *Age*
  • Would it be possible to update the user search function so that it allows searching for any part of a username, rather than just matching from the beginning?
  • For example, if I search for *"Cellio"*, I receive no results.

  • Another observation is that sorting by *Reputation* or *Age* appears ineffective when the search function is used. The order in which users are displayed remains unclear - it doesn't seem to be alphabetical, by user ID, reputation, or age.

Add user search substring matching
Would it be possible to update the user search function so that it allows searching for any part of a username, rather than just matching from the beginning?

For example, if I search for *"Cellio"*, I receive no results.

Another observation is that sorting by *Reputation* or *Age* appears ineffective when the search function is used. The order in which users are displayed remains unclear - it doesn't seem to be alphabetical, by user ID, reputation, or age.
