Please go ahead and flag. As another answer points out, this could feed into automatic actions in the future and, in any case, feeds into abilities now (which, yes, also need changes). When looking at a post with pending flags, moderators can see all of the flags in a single list, so it's not hard to go down the list marking them helpful. Also, if there's anything non-obvious about the situation, the optional comments accompanying flags can be very helpful.
