Does Codidact support the genocide in Gaza?
On a user's profile, I read the following message:
I have suspended my activity on Codidact and left the chat servers because I am no longer comfortable contributing to and in a space with a major part of the leadership aligned on the wrong side of history, ethics and morality. For a long time, I held out hope that these people would come to their senses and stop supporting the ongoing genocide on Palestine, along with the never-ending occupation and ethnic cleansing. It appears that my desperate hope in that has been misplaced, as I have come to the realization that these peoples' beliefs in the violent and human rights violating zionism is so strong, that no amount of reasoning is going to convince them. They remain in staunch support with the crimes of Israel. In my conversations with them, the racism they display is rather repulsive, repeatedly putting forth lies and propaganda to explain away horrible events, often even denying the events altogether, same as the neo-nazis deny Holocaust. The extreme levels of double morality combined with the complete lack of responsibility within the mindset they push, is not a nice encounter. I am appalled. I can stand their dehumanizing of the Palestinians no more. My respect in them has been eroded. And I can most of all ensure them, we're not living in a world where everybody is attempting to harm Jews, producing false information to hurt Israel. Enough with that conspiracy theory.
As long as these people remain in leadership positions at Codidact, I cannot partake in this mission anymore.
Perhaps one day in the future, they will come to their senses, and I can support Codidact again. Take care, everyone.

The current Israeli government may need to prolong conflict in order to ensure its continued existence, including unnecessarily extending the active fighting in Gaza, but both that war started by Hamas and the actions of the Islamic Republic were a genuine threat to Israel's safety.

The Arab world created the Palestinian problem and bears responsibility for helping to fix it. I mentioned Egypt and Israel because Israel captured Gaza from Egypt. There was no "Palestine" as currently defined then. "Palestinian" meant everyone living in the area, a lot of whom were Jews (many of whom were kicked out of Arab countries with no right of return or compensation).
It is clear (also from context) that at least two administrators of Codidact believe Israel's actions are correct. This does not necessarily imply that Codidact as an institution believes the same, but it is reasonable to take into account when evaluating the site overall.

Before we address this question as asked, we felt it was important to address the situation with this specific contributor as well. This person has made valuable contributions to Codidact communities, and was active on our Discord servers until a few weeks ago, when they decided to suspend their activity. This decision was made following a number of conversations on Discord surrounding this conflict, during which, as far as we can tell, all parties involved remained constructive and respectful. We have not heard to the contrary, nor had any of the concerns raised in this user's profile brought to us directly to respond to. We have not received any reports of concerns based on any private communication with any of the team. Although we respect this user's decision to suspend their activity here, we are disappointed at losing a valuable member of the community this way without the chance to discuss their concerns first.
Codidact's leadership team is composed of a diverse group of individuals from around the world, including people who fall naturally into both "sides" of this particular conflict (and various points in between), and people who are directly affected by it. This particular conflict is complex, long-running, and not at all possible to address in one simple statement.
That said, our individual points of view or political stances are irrelevant. Part of our core mission has always been the free and open access to knowledge, and as part of that the right to express one's point of view and engage in respectful debate with others with different perspectives. Honest, respectful conversation in this way is how we resolve our differences as individuals and as societies. In order for this to happen, everyone must participate in good faith and with good intentions, and assume the same is true of others when disagreements arise. When this doesn't happen, debate and discussion break down and make way for misunderstanding and conflict - as has happened with this particular contributor.
We don't believe that making statements on specific global conflicts is productive. That said, in line with our core values, we are agreed on the following:
We believe that everyone should have access to information and knowledge, and the right to discuss that information and knowledge with others openly.
We believe that everyone has the right to peace, and to freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and freedom from persecution.
We condemn the intentional inhumane treatment of people - civilians, soldiers, prisoners of war, or otherwise - no matter the justification.

I see no evidence of that.
The user you quoted seems to be reacting to private communications with undisclosed members of the Codidact staff. Even taking that at face value, that is very different from Codidact itself having an official position on the matter.
Since we are not privy whatever private communication took place, we can't judge for ourselves the meaning of what was said, or whether anything related to the question was discussed at all. Without any evidence we can judge independently, someone's claim of what was said is really not much information at all.
In any case, what was said privately between individuals is just that. Unless and until that becomes public and/or manifests itself in official Codidact actions or policy statements, it has nothing to do with Codidact.
