Q&A

Welcome to Codidact Meta!

Codidact Meta is the "town hall" (meta-discussion site) for the Codidact community network and the Codidact software. Whether you have bug reports or feature requests, support questions or rule discussions that touch the whole network – this is the site for you.

Why is the site so slow?

The Codidact web site has been really slow often for me over the last week or so. Has anyone else seen this? Is this a known issue with an understood cause? If so, what's going on?

During one of these slow times, which is now most of the time, it takes 10s of seconds to see a new page after clicking a link. It took a couple of minutes to get to be able to post this message for example.

I have tried different machines in different locations with different internet connections. Same slowness. Other web sites continue to be fast, so I don't think it's on my end.

I'm in north-central Massachusetts in case that matters.

PS. It took 57 seconds to post the original message, above the line. That's from when I clicked "Save Post in Q&A" to when it showed the new post in place.

We are currently being targeted by a large number of requests, increasing the load on our servers significantly beyond average. We've been actively monitoring, and are adjusting rate limits and Cloudflare verification to try to address the issue.

We apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.
