Sign in on first go
When I go to "codidact.com" there is no "Sign In" field, I have to choose some community to sign in, to all the communities.
I guess this is just a neglected feature not implemented yet.

That's a good point; the path from codidact.com to sign-in is not at all clear.
codidact.com is a static page hosted separately from the server that runs our communities. A sign-in link has to be on a community; we don't have the concept of signing in to the network but not a particular subdomain (community). We can add a sign-in link on that page, but it'll need to point somewhere and since it's a static page, we can't do something like see who you are and then pick the community you were most recently active on.
If we're going to pick a community to sign in on, I'd propose Meta (this one). Are there any concerns with that? Currently, after sign-in you end up on the main category of that community, which might not be clear if you were aiming for Software Development or Electrical Engineering. Ideally, when coming from codidact.com, we'd instead redirect to the network tab on your profile so you can easily go where you wanted, or perhaps to the dashboard, but this is the point in the "thinking out loud" speculation where I'd need to ask developers what's possible.
Alternatively, we could add a "sign in" button for each community, next to the "visit this community" button. That's a little redundant in that you don't need to sign in on each one, but it gives a clearer path to where you're going to end up.
I've described multiple approaches here, so voting won't be meaningful beyond "yes do something" or "all those ideas are bad". But this is Meta and I hope we can discuss in comments and maybe then work out a more concrete idea in a separate answer.

Alternatively, we could add a "sign in" button for each community, next to the "visit this community" button.
This covers both of:
- Ease of use (a single click to get to the sign in page for the selected community)
- Discoverability (no longer needing to know in advance that you need to visit a community before having the option to sign in)
I can't see a significant advantage to a more sophisticated approach, and this seems the simplest to implement, so I propose we go with this one.
