## Matching accessibility recommendations is good Although [Olin's answer](https://meta.codidact.com/posts/296106/296121#answer-296121) may be useful to some people, I don't necessarily think that this is solely a screen adjustment issue. Some people benefit from more contrast than others, and we could match to the contrast levels recommended for accessibility (which [Zoe's comment](https://meta.codidact.com/comments/thread/11817#comment-29284) suggests we are not far from matching already). ## We could also consider the effects of blue light reduction Another thing to bear in mind is that some screens can be set to reduce blue light, either consistently or at certain times of day to help with eye strain and sleeping patterns. This can happen slowly and subtly enough that it is not obvious that it has happened (if the setting is on by default). This gives a significant reduction in contrast for some colours of text. So in addition to meeting standardised accessibility recommendations, it may also be worth testing the user interface on various operating systems (across desktop and mobile) that provide blue light reduction. I have noticed this reduction in contrast, and I've also noticed that some panels on Codidact that have a different colour background lose that colour distinction from the rest of the page when the blue light is reduced.
