How can I see what a proposed edit would look like?

The diff view of proposed edits is generally good, and useful to have as a default; but sometimes it's not obvious how new Markdown will render.
I'd like to know how to check this unobtrusively, if there's already explicit support that I overlooked; and request it if not.
