Comment Post #276832 The symbol for imported is an example where I think "exceptional circumstances" applies. If there is a tag-quantity-per-question limit then that symbol should not count towards that limit. No spaces – good, maybe you will better understand what I am getting at. Would you mind if a site decided (witho...

Comment Post #276832 ie some users can and some can't, even if the qualification system varies between sites. Lower case or upper or mixed is fine, but mixed means more work, both manual and very likely automatic (so slower). Being limited for character number was not my point – my point was the limit should be the same ...

Comment Post #276832 *Other sites may not want mod-only tags* damns the rationale for having them on other sites. I have never seen much need for mandatory tags, but to demand them on one site and not another makes no sense to me. If it makes no sense to others there will be confusion, and errors, and extra work and ill ...

Comment Post #276832 Hierarchical, I think, excellent (I'd like the option for every site). Different tag sets, of course (by *basics of tagging* I meant to exclude actual tags, merely include "the system"). *Meta's tags are mainly used as a way for the site builders and administrators to keep track of what is completed*...

The OP (re professional vs. hobby) has Commented "I don't think there needs to be a distinction" and 'Professional' seems to be misleading.

Question Please ensure cross-site uniformity for the basics of tagging
I've noticed that the photography.codidact meta tagging system differs from what seems more conventional. For example, it appears that there no tags are mandatory (here at least one of [bug] [feature-request] [discussion] [support] appears to be) and that the colour of [status-completed] there is not...

Comment Post #75053 Were this tagged [status-launched] (scientific-speculation.codidact acknowledged as meeting the idea) I would have upvoted, but instead have down voted as I think there is no room for two such similar sites here.

[qpixel] has a Usage Guide (that however does not guide usage) but the tag now seems utterly useless (e.g. given the first sentence of OP).iven

Although the [privileges] tag is not (yet?) defined (ie no Usage Guide) since Q appears to apply to all users, application here seems inappropriate.

Comment Post #276539 I have up voted this A because my immediate reaction was to favour a separate category, and I appreciate the clarity of your expression. (Plus your last paragraph made me laugh.) However, I disagree with "Bug" as a separate category because I believe it is too much to expect general users to distingu...

Comment Post #39514 I've down voted because without a 'status' tag and without a formal A after all this time the Q now seems irrelevant, and @ArtOfCode's comment seems to suggest it never was particulalry relevant. (Also, I don't see "Authenticate" in my account.)

Answer A: Meta Codidact is missing a favicon.
Considering the entire block at the top left of this page to be Codidact META's icon I'd suggest not practical, though theoretically possible. The aspect ratio is not suitable for an end result that is to be square and distinguishable when small. However, the banderole-like, stylised, book-shaped,...

Maybe tag [a] was there to make a point, but A(nswer) is strong counter to what seems to be the proposal anyway (eg Java and JavaScript, should there be a Programming site).

Comment Post #276755 @xtal *not always reliable* and *not going to add much clutter* - agreed. But full date stamps are shown with a click on "See all your notifications »". I wonder whether sorting "Active" might help instead/meanwhile if most are identical because As to the same Q.

Question Should we have "Last seen" times?
Tracking when each user last logged in or last was active may be onerous but such information can be helpful in various ways, such as in deciding when to return to a post. Edit At least for the time being, the top entry in a user's Activity Table is for me an adequate alternative to a "Last see...

Comment Post #276780 Clearly the Q&A format is not an ideal one for site proposals and I acknowledge rhetorical questions can have a role but I have down voted this post since I believe it is phrased in a far less constructive way than it might easily have been.

Question What is an easy way to determine my Trust Level?
I'd like to: 1) suggest usage guidance or detailed wikis for tags (e.g. https://meta.codidact.com/categories/3/tags) 2) draw attention to possible typos (e.g. https://meta.codidact.com/posts/search) 3) upvote (e.g. https://meta.codidact.com/questions/276701) but don't know how. I suspect chat w...
