I think many downvotes on this question are a reflection of the (de facto) different meaning of votes on meta, as discussed e.g. in the [questions on whether Meta votes should affect user reputation](https://linux.codidact.com/posts/288734).
I assume that many of the downvotes are not objections to ... (more) |

If I understood the original post correctly, trichoplax does not consider the use of a scroll-bar for showing over-long lines in code-blocks as the problem. Rather, they consider it a bug that this scroll-bar is not added as it should when the over-long code-block is inside the `summary` section of a... (more) |

Yes, I think this summarizes the key issue rather nicely. I have edited the answer to highlight that aspect more prominently (so that future readers have it all "at a glance"). (more) |

A: Should we render double hyphen as an em dash? For the reasons you already alluded to, rendering `--` as em-dash by default is dangerous, see discussions on a Similarly Engineered site. This is particularly true in question titles since they don't support formatting options. I think that at least in communities where verbatim reproduction can ... (more) |

Question | — |
Are the [post] and [posts] tags synonyms? I noticed that here on Meta, there is both a `post` tag (2 questions[^1], no usage guidelines) and a `posts` tag (43 questions, with usage guidelines). The questions tagged `post` look like the would well fit into the `posts` tag, so I would recommend merging these two, or adding usage guidelines to ... (more) |

Good idea! I [did so](https://meta.codidact.com/posts/288674), and apparently it is a known problem that was considered fixed, but seems to have reappeared. (more) |

Question | — |
Text entry field for answer stays open (once) after submitting When posting an answer to this question, I experienced a strange glitch in the submission process. The text entry view remained open after submission, and was still showing the draft. This misled me to click Save Post in Q&A a second time and thereby post a duplicate answer (now deleted). After th... (more) |

Interesting point. I guess the aspect about the "bootstrapping" phase didn't come to my mind immediately because CD has already been around for a few years now. But then again, you are right - (at least in the case of LS CD), the community is still small and the usage frequency as well. So the amount... (more) |

Since the rep system is still here about 3 years after this post, maybe the formula should be explained in the Help pages? I didn't find anything about the rep system there when I looked recently. (more) |

I accidentally created two identical answers because after submitting the answer, the edit field was still open and showing the draft. This misled me to click on "post" again, which resulted in the duplicate. (more) |

Although I can understand why you feel the current behavior is wrong, may I suggest that you change that first tag to "discussion" instead? It could be just me (not a native speaker), but directly calling it a "bug" sounds somewhat harsh, which could impact the change you want to achieve with your qu... (more) |

Answer | — |
A: Creating tags is much easier than adding description Although I have just created my first new tag as a fairly new user and thus profited from the current liberal approach, I would propose to raise the bar for creating a tag to the same threshold as for editing tag metadata (which might be somewhat lowered in return, but that is a different discussion)...
