FR: Throw an error message when a user attempts to paste an image over 2 MB

Currently, it fails silently and no image is uploaded. I paste via ctrl+V or right-click->paste. I use instance of Brave, on Windows 11 24H2 Pro.

Animated screen recording of the silent failure

Copying an image then pasting with right click and seeing no result

There is an error messages for images that are too large, but I think it's slightly further on than this point - as far as I know this point should succeed regardless. Feels more like there's a bug in the image paste there, looking at your GIF. Have you got a link to the image you're trying to paste so I can try to reproduce?

Disregard, it's not the specific image, it works with any - reproduced. I'm gonna call this a bug rather than a feature request. Once you try to paste the image, if you open the insert-image dialog, you'll see that the max file size caption is in red - this is the error message, which works fine if you're using the dialog, but clearly not if you're trying to paste directly in the editor. I'll file this and see how we can improve it.
