When I try to accept the chat invite I get the following error message:
Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid.
Can you share which address you are trying? Then we could check if that's the correct one.
The link in the right hand panel of this page shows for me as https://discord.gg/bv2aaGa. It's quite an old invitation link but I've just tested and it still works for me, in Firefox on Fedora Linux. I've also just tested in a few other places for comparison:
- Firefox on Android: This required checking a box in the settings for "Desktop mode" otherwise pressing "Accept Invite" tried to open an app rather than a webpage (which I declined).
- Chrome on Android: Also required checking a box in the settings for "Desktop site" to avoid it trying to open an app rather than a webpage.
- Chromium on Fedora: Works fine.
- Edge on Windows: Works fine.
So for me, the problem I see is in browsers that display a mobile version of a webpage. Are you using a mobile device? I don't know if an iPad would count as a mobile device due to being touchscreen. If you're using a phone or an iPad does that version of Safari have an option to force a desktop version of a webpage?
I don't have an Apple device to test with, but if anyone reading this does, please let us know if the link works in Safari for you.
Seems to work for me (iOS 26.2), trichoplax, so something else must be at play
The invitation link worked for me in Safari (Version 17.2.1 (19617.1.17.11.12)) on MacOS desktop and in Safari on iOS 26.3.1 (I don't know how to find the Safari version). That takes me to a page where I can either register or sign in. I went through the registration process with a new address on iOS and that worked, but I already had Discord installed so I don't know what happens if you don't and it stays in the browser. Is anyone able to test that scenario?
samcarter I was using the You can also join us in chat! Codidact link from the right hand panel.
trichoplax I am using an iPad and by default it requests the desktop version of websites.
Do you have the Discord app installed on your iPad? I'm assuming not but want to confirm what we need to test. Discord runs in a browser (at least on desktop) and also has an app, and it sounds like you're having trouble with the "run in browser on mobile" path. (When I tried to repro it launched the app at that point, because I have the app.)
Monica Cellio I don’t have the Discord app on my iPad.

will.octagon.gibson What specific link is this? As in, what shows up in the browser url bar?
The "join us in chat" link in the sidebar goes to https://discord.gg/bv2aaGa (before any browser rewriting that might be going on). Will, is what you see in the browser different?
Monica Cellio The link you provided in your comment matches the link I see in the right hand panel before I tap it. After I tap the link, my browser goes to a page whose URL shows as: https://discord.com/invite/bv2aaGa.
Once there when I tap the Accept Invite button, I get the following error message:
Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid.
By the way, it took multiple attempts to post this comment because I kept getting a 422 unprocessable error message. Note: logging out then logging back in did not help with posting this comment.
