Notification directs to me to 403 error page

+3
−0

Just got a notification about a comment in my inbox. It leads to a 403 forbidden error page, so I believe I might either be lacking some privilege to view it, or maybe the post got deleted within minutes from the notification popped up. This is the URL:

https://software.codidact.com/questions/278575#comment-7410

If the problem is that I'm lacking a privilege such as viewing deleted posts, it probably shouldn't pop up as a notification without first checking if I can actually view it.

Any ideas what could be causing it?

Yep. You’re right. It’s a deleted post. Right now, notifications are not connected to specific elements (posts, comments, ...) and hence it’s not possible to hide them upon deletion.

Yeah, that's annoying. You know someone mention you but you have no idea what was there. What worst: person who mentioned you also doesn't know whether you had read their post or not

Yes, the post was deleted and yes, it would be good if notifications could be withdrawn in such cases but that doesn't work yet. The comment, from the OP a few minutes before deleting, was: "@Lundin Testing would seem (to me) often difficult without data, and I suspect that is often imported." This was on a (closed) question about CSV imports to Excel. (I feel it's ok to share the comment since the author clearly intended to reach you by pinging you.)
