dir=rtl and inline HTML CSS styling, which I need to properly format my following post on Software Development Codidact, aren't working;

The source code preview of the post doesn't correctly match the final output of the post:

Without proper formatting (especially dir="rtl" att-val) readers might significantly misunderstand me there).

From what I can see, supporting the [dir] attribute can be safely done. However, we cannot support the [style] attribute for security reasons.

CSS allows you to do a lot of things, many of those being a possible security or exploit risk. Even simple things like background images could be used to collect sensitive data without the knowledge of the users (tracking pixels).

I'll file an issue for the [dir] attribute, though, so that we can look into allowing it.

However the preview not matching the final post also seems to be a bug to me, regardless of what HTML is or isn't supported.

Hello luap42 ; thank you for submitting the issue about [dir] and for the detailing --- to solve the problem of my need in grey background color for displaying the output, what markdown approach will you (or any other maintainer) suggest me to take?

@JohnDoea Either take a screenshot of your output and include it as an image, or just include it raw. Specifying your background color isn't something we support.

I prefer not to use screenshots at all due to usability principles; raw inclusion (<pre> tags?) won't really describe what I was expecting, but if you meant everything the same with no background color I guess that's good enough.
