Is there a limit on the length of a post (either question, answer, article, etc) on Codidact sites?

The current UI only shows this limit for comments, but not for posts - this is not a feature request to add something similar to posts, I just want to know what the limit is, if there are different limits per post type, if it's configurable per site, etc.

I also couldn't find this information in Help Center.

I've made a test in the dev server, and the limit for both questions and answers is 30000 characters:

test in dev server, limit is 30k chars

Is this limit set only there, or is the same on production sites? (I don't want to test here, to not run the risk to create a nonsense post, just to delete it afterwards).

Yes, there is a limit.

For both, questions and answers, there is a limit of 30000 characters.

If you tried to post a question or answer with more than 30000 characters, you will get the following error message:

Note: The dev server is same as production sites but the dev server may contain beta features that are not released yet.

Update: I have even tried here on Codidact Meta and I got the same above message.

Is it configurable?

Thanks for the answer. Do you know if the limit is set in stone or it's configurable (maybe per site/post type/etc)? I know I could just look at the source code, but I'm not that fluent in Ruby and couldn't find this info there...

I don't think it's configurable today, but I entered a GitHub request to see if it can be made so.

Post body and Comment body is configurable (by making some changes to code). But, If we want to make title also configurable than, we have to make changes to database.

@hkotsubo As far as I know, I think No, it is not configurable.

I meant configurable through the admin tools ("site settings"). We can modify the code to make limits configurable for a community the same way a bunch of other things are configurable, but right now it's baked into the code. The GH issue proposes changing that.
