A png image isn't uploaded with the error according to which images should be .png etc.

I try to upload a .png image weighing less to two megabytes to this post but I get the following error:

Images must be one of png, jpeg, jpg, gif

If it helps, I have uploaded the image to here.

I downloaded your PNG and was able to upload it in an answer on that post. You linked to a comment thread; were you trying to embed the image in the comment? How were you doing that (since we don't provide the uploader widget on comments)? Please add more information about what you did.

Hi, I meant to link to the post itself to which I tried to upload the image (link fixed).

(I find the threaded comments mechanism in its current form quite confusing but that's for another discussion).

I believe that you were able to upload the image and I didn't because of some caching problem; if I recall correctly I tried to upload it after several edits to the post so some pervious edits may sabotage image uploads.
