Activity numbers don't add up
I was just looking at Reports > Posts in the moderator tools of the Electrical Engineering site:
The total numbers of questions, answers, and comments is believable. However, these don't agree with other places, nor with the numbers under "Categories".
In the categories directly, it shows 190 in Q&A, 13 in Papers, and 34 in Meta. I thought that maybe the display above is showing questions and answers, but that doesn't add up either. According to the picture above, there are 122 + 197 = 319 total posts. That still doesn't explain 538 in Q&A. I manually counted the top posts in the Papers category, and there are indeed 13. That means the bottom row of numbers doesn't include comments.
No matter how I try to reconcile these numbers, they just don't add up.
