Can auto-saving be individually disabled?

+5
−0

It's probably just my Internet connection, but I often find when I'm composing a post that my window freezes for a few moments so that my post can autosave. Sometimes it happens often enough to be a bit annoying, but I'm fairly confident that's a client-side issue, not server-side.

How is the autosave feature built into the software? Is there a way to implement a manual save instead, where, for example, on your user profile you can choose which style of saving you'd prefer?

That's... odd. It's not set up for this at the moment, but having local user preferences like that could be valuable... I'll put it on the list.

Yes, let's please have a setting @ArtOfCode. I don't mind such a setting defaulting to on, because many are probably going to find an autosave valuable, but for those who would rather not have it, let's empower the user.

I agree, a manual save would be better. The auto-save right now is too aggressive, and that jumping up and down of the preview due to the auto-save message being added then removed is really distracting. I'd rather not have auto-save at all.
