  • The category questions list page (including each site's front page) uses the shorter URL paths, such as `/q/1234`, to link to posts (usually questions, but sometimes articles). However, the category RSS (actually Atom) feed uses the longer version, such as `/questions/1234`, for the same purpose.
  • This discrepancy should be fixed by making the two use the same form of path when referring to a post by URL.
  • I don't personally have a particular preference for which version is used.

  • I don't personally have a particular preference for which version is used, although it does look like with the current design, using the longer form (/questions/1234) would remove the need for one redirect, thus quite possibly improving performance.

URLs in category feed should match URLs on category front page
The category questions list page (including each site's front page) uses the shorter URL paths, such as `/q/1234`, to link to posts (usually questions, but sometimes articles). However, the category RSS (actually Atom) feed uses the longer version, such as `/questions/1234`, for the same purpose.

This discrepancy should be fixed by making the two use the same form of path when referring to a post by URL.

I don't personally have a particular preference for which version is used.
