This question has been addressed elsewhere. See: Although div tag is not allowed, it's rendered in the preview

The html tag <tt> works correctly in the preview window that is shown while editing a post. Text enclosed in such tags is shown in mono-spaced font. However, the TT tag seems to be ignored when the post is shown normally.

The TT tags don't get lost. Editing a post again shows the tags, and the result is again correct in the preview window.

Test cases:

    Normal text

    Text enclosed in TT

PS - I just noticed that HTML entities (like &lt; and &gt;) don't work in titles.

tt seems to be outdated

OK, what should I use instead? What should I use to show text in-line in mono-spaced font, without a distracting box or something around it?

`tt` is not one of the [allowed tags](/posts/277420), thus it's removed from the final rendered post.... (1 comment)
